Summary
What does this car say about you?
You don't care about the car's looks, but value it's performance.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Ugly
Would you buy this car again and why?
No - the dealers are terrible and head office won't get involved in dealer disputes so I'm never buying another Citroen.
What are you likely to buy next?
Already bought it - Peugeot 306 cabriolet (similar engine, bit less power, but much, much prettier).

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£700
When did you buy the car?
January 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, dealer wanted to get rid of it because it had been in his showroom for ages.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Loved my Xsara HDi estate, wanted a performance plaything and it was much cheaper than a comparable Peugeot 306 GTi6.
What was the dealer like?
Ok

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Cornered like it was on rails. Exhilarating acceleration from the 2.0 16v engine. Only complaint was it it was a bit buzzy on motorways because of low gearing.
What's it like to park?
Resonable, rear view not as restricted as you might expect. Front-end overhang needed to be watched for. Be careful about this - my car was written off for a cracked headlight and damaged bumper because it was worth so little!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Airbag warning light came on a lot (the hard suspension shakes the wiring loose under the seat) and headlight bulbs needed frequent replacement.
What's most practical about your car?
It's a great little performance plaything for not much money, so great for a 2nd car. Probably too thirsty around town and irritating on motorways to use as your main car.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Superb engine. Leather seats.
