Citroën ZX Hatchback 1.9 TD Elation 5d (1996/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Excellent: Same car as a 306 for 2 grand less!
Costs
Fuel wonderful (upwards of 50mpg average), but parts often expensive.

On the road
Driving
As smaller cars go, this is one of the best I've driven! Rear-wheel steering makes it a blast on the twisties.
Performance
As diesels go, it's there with the best. Acceleration for overtaking is wonderful. Only the latest can match it for refinement.

Living with it
Reliability
Never let me down in 60,000 miles. The glowplugs needed changing once, as it was getting hard to start.
Image
Nobody knows about them. Slightly better than a Lada or Skoda, which is a shame because they are great little cars!
Comfort
Average at best. The seats had very little support. My dad's higher spec was better, but still not great! Lots of space though!

Security and Service
Security
Fine. Immobiliser as a key pad is far more secure than transponder or touch-keys, as the code can't be stolen along with the keys.
Service
They did their job. However, I was annoyed when they charged me for new tyres - at the price they quoted, I expected them to fit Michelins.
