Citroën ZX Hatchback 1.9 Turbo D Volcane 5d (1994/L) Owner Review

Economy
Value
I paid way over the top for mine but it was bought from a dealer and was a one local owner with FCSH and only 42k and it was in the right colour. (Black).
Costs
Parts are cheap as chips if you have a citroen specialist scrap yard like i have by me. Have not had to spend a penny on her yet, apart from a full service which i did myself.

On the road
Driving
excellent drive, a bit low and stiff but it is the volcane and thats the way its meant to be, a lot of fun on the twisty roads.
Performance
Only about 90 bhp but it is very nippy for a car that handles like any other hot hatch and returns 40 mpg round town. Fun drive.

Living with it
Reliability
Never Missed a beat yet. with only 44k on the clock should be good for another 200k. Just had towbar fitted and tows my caravan a peach.
Image
Personnaly i think its one of the sexiest looking cars around but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Black is the best colour i think and red prob the worst. the sharp lines and squarness of the pannels just really appeals to me.
Comfort
Comfortable seats hug you nice, adjustable every way you can think off. its no rolls royce so dont expect one

Security and Service
Security
Factory fitted alarm and immob plus i have an aftermarket immob fitted which most insurance companies now stipulate you should have on this car. strange for a diesel.
Service
have only bought service parts from dealer. all maintanance is done by myself.
