Skoda has launched its most environmentally friendly model ever – the 83mpg Fabia Greenline II Estate.
Priced at £13,740 and on sale now, the new model is capable of covering more than 900 miles on a single tank of fuel.
Powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbodiesel engine, the Fabia returns average economy of 83mpg and emits just 89g/km of CO2. As a result of the latter figure, the Fabia is exempt from road tax and qualifies for the lowest 13% diesel benefit-in-kind tax banding.
As well as a new engine, the Fabia comes with start/stop technology, brake energy recuperation, gearchange indicator, a lowered chassis and low rolling resistance tyres.
Standard equipment includes cruise control, ESP stability control, tyre pressure monitoring and an alarm.
The estate model costs £13,740, and a five-door hatchback version will be offered from October.
