Volvo has announced 'eco-friendly DRIVe versions of its S60 and V60 models.
The Swedish company now has nine cars emitting under 120g/km of CO2 and, like the other cars in its ‘eco' range, this pair are powered by the firm's well-practised combination of frugal 1.6-litre diesel engine and six-speed gearbox.
The S60 emits 114g/km CO2 while the V60 emits 119g/km CO2. This means 13% BIK taxation for both cars (in the 20% tax bracket an S60 DRIVe ES will cost company car drivers £52 per month while the V60 DRIVe ES will cost £58 per month) and VED at £30 for the first year and £30 a year thereafter.
Fuel economy is 65.7mpg for the S60 and 62.8mpg for the V60.
As well as the 1.6-litre engine, DRIVe models have a plethora of features helping them achieve such low emissions and good fuel economy. Stop/start, low rolling resistance tyres and low drag aerodynamics feature on all of the firm's eco models.
Prices start at £23,495 for the S60 DRIVe ES (£1,000 more than the base spec S60). All cars in both S60 and V60 guise will be available in R-Design trim level, including a new bodykit, chassis tweaks and interior changes.
Deliveries are expected to begin in April, with production starting at the end of this month.
