Another new hybrid is on the way, with Infiniti the latest brand to clamber aboard the eco bandwagon.
Company car drivers will be excited to learn that from spring this year the M35h will be available with a combined petrol/electric hybrid power-plant.
The quickest of all the ‘M' series Infiniti saloons, a V6 petrol engine coupled with a 67bhp electric motor means a total of 359bhp is available. This results in a sprint to 62mph in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 155mph.
Emissions of 162g/km CO2 mean company car drivers should expect to pay BIK tax in the 23% band in 2011/2012. Infiniti also reports the M35h will return 40.4mpg on the combined cycle.
Thanks to the hybrid system the boot of the ‘h' is 350 litres, 100 litres less than the diesel engine-equipped M30d and 150 less than the petrol-powered M37.
The new car will be available in either GT or GT Premium specifications, with prices will be released closer to the Geneva Motor Show in March.
