Hyundai is hoping its new i40 will be a hit with company car drivers thanks to a new diesel engine and eco package.
The Mazda6 competitor gets a diesel engine borrowed from the soft-road ix35 making 113bhp. When married to the Blue Drive eco package the i40 emits just 113g/km CO2, meaning 13% BIK taxation.
As well as low emissions, the i40 will return a claimed 66mpg on the combined cycle.
It also comes with a high level of standard kit including lane-keeping assist, Bluetooth connectivity and integrated sat nav with rear-view camera.
You also get heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated and reclining rear seats and a host of safety systems which the firm hopes will result in a 5-star NCAP rating.
Included in the Blue Drive package is a stop/start system, low rolling-resistance tyres and an alternator management system.
The i40 has dimensions very similar to the Mazda6 with 553 litres of boot space with the seats up and 1,719 litres with the seats folded down. It'll be available first as an estate, and then as a saloon.
