Chinese-owned MG Motors has launched a new supermini named the MG3.
Unveiled at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China last December, the '3 has been built with heavy influences from a British design studio based in MG's UK base at Longbridge.
Seen here sporting a racing livery and sports alloys, it's a five-door small car based on the ‘Zero' concept car seen at the Beijing Motor Show last year.
Expected to get a brace of small-capacity petrol engines and maybe a diesel too, the car is aimed at buyers aged between 18 and 28 and should get performance on par with other superminis in the sector. Despite the optimistic paint scheme there's no word on a hot version as yet.
The MG3 goes on sale in China in a few months' time, with no word on a UK launch or pricing as yet.
MG currently has 38 dealers across the UK, with plans for 25 more in the near future.
