Dacia Sandero (2013 - 2021) 1.5 dCi Laureate 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Purchased the car from a family member who in turn had purchased it new. The car has been reliable from new with the only issue being an exhaust shield becoming loose and the radio display fades to nothing in the direct sunlight which is a common problem.
It is very easy to maintain yourself and parts are easily available as it is just put together from the renault parts bin.
My wife is the predominant user and she simply travels 5 miles to work and back in town and I maybe take it to work once every 3 weeks which is longer on the motorway to ensure the DPF regens correctly. My wife has a lead foot and manages 55mpg. On a motorway run with a light foot you can easily get 65/70mpg. The oil is also changed once every year max 7500 miles which ensures there is no issues as I know town driving isnt great for diesels.
The diesel is nippy enough and sits on the motorway great especially with cruise control, but does need to be in the correct gear around town with no real room for error, but equally it can easily burn off some boy racers (same engine as a mercedes A180d, but sandero is MUCH lighter) .
I would defiantly recommend this car, maybe not the diesel for around town but defiantly for motorway. It is cheap to maintain, insure and free tax.
