Dacia Sandero Stepway 1.0 TCe Bi-Fuel Comfort 5dr Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Looks and space are good, the interior is comfortable, and LPG cheapens the daily running cost considerably. However the mpg is awful in our hilly terrain, the handling poor on twisty island roads, and refinement is absent with wind and tyre noise both intrusive. Boot access is tight, electrical problems randomly come and go, phone integration is hit and miss. With these issues, overall it's just too expensive for a budget car. Had I bought the entry level model at £8000, I would have been really quite happy, but most Stepways cost double that, and the perceived quality isn't what I've had before at this price point.
How reliable do you find the car?
Random electrical faults which come and go are at best irritating and at worst unsafe, e.g. dead A/C making it it impossible to clear the screen. Dead Satnav was more than inconvenient when away from home, and faults with the Keyless locking have occurred too.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Its smart and modern, roomy too, but the cost cutting is obvious. Little sound-proofing, excessive body-roll on roundabouts and sharp corners, and poor quality electrics all detract from the ownership experience.
