Daewoo Espero

    Value

    2 out of 5 2.0

Good value at time of purchase, but re-sale / part-exchange value is very disheartening!

    Costs

    1 out of 5 1.0

Extortionate costs for servicing and repair through Daewoo dealership network. No other garages/dealerships will entertain repairs as they cannot obtain service info. No Haines manual available.

  • On the road

    Driving

    3 out of 5 3.0

Suspension and ride acceptable. Air con noticably reduces accelleration, power steering labours engine also.

    Performance

    1 out of 5 1.0

Lots of revving and getting nowhere! Underpowered engine for size and weight of vehicle, wouldn't pull you out of bed. The DOHC is no replacement for larger engine capacity here.

    Reliability

    1 out of 5 1.0

Nothing but problems from 1st week of purchase. Most fixed under warranty, but now proving VERY costly outside of warranty period. AA now know me very well (no exaggeration).

Looks nice, a little pointed at the front. A MK1 cavalier with a Citroen nose-cone.

    Comfort

    4 out of 5 4.0

No problems here. Comfortable on long journeys.

  • Security and Service

Would you want to steal one?

    Service

    1 out of 5 1.0

Very poor aftersales service from Daewoo, promises to sort out 'niggles' never materialised once payment made for vehicle.
