Daewoo Matiz EZ+ 5d (2002/51) Owner Review

Economy
Value
This is the second Matiz I have owned from new and no doubt I will buy another.
Costs
Cheap to buy, especially when Daewoo special offers are about. Since the takeover of General Motors the warranty package isn't quite so good.

On the road
Driving
Still a few problems with cornering, especially if there are potholes around. Overtaking takes a bit of planning but the new 1.0-litre engine may help. The gear change is still not great.
Performance
Can't fault it - you get more than you pay for. Brilliant fuel economy returns, but there are times when you feel embarrased trying to get up hills with the 796cc engine.

Living with it
Reliability
Two Matizs now and just one radiator cap to pay for.
Image
Cute looking and so easy to park in those spaces others can't.
Comfort
Not for the long motorway user, but have been to Paris!

Security and Service
Security
Poor locking security made up for by engine immobiliser.
Service
Daewoo have had problems, but with GM in charge - lets see.
