Summary
What does this car say about you?
Not a lot! I'm 55 and happy with this car. The model I have is the 04 facelift without the silly grin! It just has the plain grille, a far better look than the original 'toothy grin'!. I've done all the Beemers, spitfires, MGBs etc in my youth. Got the T shirts!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I really don't care what they think. I am happy with this car.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, without a doubt. Good value for money, reliable, spacious, I cannot fault it for the price
What are you likely to buy next?
Another Daewoo Tacuma, it leaves all the Renault Scenics, Vauxhall Zafiras etc standing. The photo is not of my car (I don't do technical and have been unable to upload a photo) but would advise anyone thinking of a Tacuma to go onto the Daewoo website and view the latest version. You will not be disappointed with this car.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£4,000
When did you buy the car?
January 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
I paid £4000, which included a 12 month all singing all dancing warranty, the car has only done 12,000 miles. I bought this car from Renault, Dartford, very helpful. The warranty means I can take it to any local Renault dealer in my vicinity and the warranty will be upheld - peace of mind!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I needed a car desperately as my Scenic had let me down, so went for the quickest and cheapest
What was the dealer like?
Helpful, put 6 months road tax (at my cost) but delivered it F.O.C.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Steering is a little light, if you are used to a heavier drive. The auto gearbox is great and smooth. Uphill driving is a doddle but take care when stuck in a traffic jam on the M25! A quick flick of the throttle and it takes off! Beware of the car in front - leave enough space! Be aware, the car 'bleeps' for no apparant reason (well, there must be a reason) but I have only had it a few days and haven't got to the end of the owners manual yet! - bear with me! At least it's warning you of whatever! Headlights left on, car in reverse etc!
What's it like to park?
Easy peasy. It can turn on a sixpence. Some models have parking sensors but I didn't find these necessary. The wing mirrors confuse you at first as they make other vehicles seem further away than they actually are, just get used to it!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing. Just had to get used to indicators and windscreen wipers on a different side. Lost count of the times I switched the windscreen wipers on to turn left!!
What's most practical about your car?
An MPV at a good price, was sick of Scenic automatics with problamatic gearboxes. The Daewoo Tacuma 2.0 CDX has a smooth gearchange, had to get used to the ABS actually working, seemes to 'phut phut' but at least I knew the ABS was 100%. Loads of space and great visibility
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The car is my favourite gadget! A/C, full electric exterior mirrors, underseat storage plus loads of hidden hidyholes
