Economy
Value
Terrible depreciation if purchased new. Second hand bargain!
Costs
Aside from the higher insurance grouping (the old GSXI charade was the same) it remains very economical. With spirited driving- still avr. 40mpg.
-
On the road
Driving
Light Steering, supportive seats, ample headroom for 6ft+ people
Performance
In the right gear and in revs above 4000rpm it flies. 3rd gear 4000rph-7000rpm feels particalarly fast.

Living with it
Reliability
It has done 34,000 with no discernible problems. Takes a couple of goes to fire up on cold mornings. Daihatsu have superb relaibilty and the powerplant has been described as mechanically unbreakable.
Image
Daihatsu are synonymous with the more mature motorist. However, it has produced the old GTTi and the Cuore Avanzato. This car gets plenty of glances, particularly the 15" alloys which come as standard. It looks particularly striking in red.
Comfort
Again, good seats. Foot well slightly cramped. Back seats good enough for children and adults on short journeys.
-
Security and Service
Security
Unknown. No one has tried it. No alarm fitted. Immobiliser as standard.
Service
Daihatsu only dealers are best (if you have one nearby). Multiple dealer garages seem to be more focussed on their Subaru or Mitsubishi customers.
