Daihatsu Sirion (2005 - 2010) 1.0 S 5d Owner Review

In their own words
1.0 qualifies for £30 road tax! Over 50mpg. Performance fine for nipping around town and does well on open A roads. I wouldn't frequent the motorway in one but you would still be faster than lorries! Growly little 3 cylinder engine a bit intrusive but actually quite endearing and characterful. Simple engine (cable throttle and clutch, not many sensors, less to go wrong!) Easy to service yourself to save money. The 1.0 is an Aygo/Yaris engine and suspension/brakes are same, so service and repair parts are easy to find. It's so much bigger inside than the Aygo and even the Yaris and even the base model gets a/c, 4 x e/w, CD player, abs, front and side airbags etc. A child's buggy fits in the boot, doors open 90 degrees, lots of head and leg room Exhaust parts might be harder to source though? Japanese reliability under the bonnet and all interior electrics still work. Clutch pedal bites high up on the pedal so I think this can be tweaked on the cable I believe as the clutch doesn't slip once in gear. The brake calipers rattle but this is the slider pins which will also be a cheap fix.
