Daihatsu Terios Estate (2006-2010) running costs and reliability
Miles per pound (mpp)
Fuel economy
The off road Daihatsu is good value for money and relatively cheap to insure, while fuel consumption is average for an off-roader at around 35mpg. The 9000-mile service interval is short though and although Daihatsu servicing is reasonably priced, the network of dealers isn’t especially widespread.
The Terios is not particularly environmentally friendly and the 1.5-litre engine emits 185g/km of CO2 while returning 36mpg. Be aware though that this is only the S model. Opting for the SX model pushes this up to 191g/km of CO2 – and it’s more expensive to tax as a result.
This Daihatsu uses some parts from the previous generation RAV4 and Toyota (which owns much of Daihatsu and has an excellent reputation for reliability) is happy to sell the model in Japan under its own name: the Toyota Rush.
