Daimler Saloon 4.0 Six 4d Auto (1995/N) Owner Review

Economy
Value
A steal! Find a well maintained Sovereign or Daimler and for less than a Focus own the most opulently luxurious car with a specification only Sat Nav short of the best on offer today at 10 times the price.
Costs
The one major drawback from owning a Jaguar/Daimler. The fuel and insurance costs can sometimes detract from the pleasure of ownership. However finding a good local specialist makes maintenance easily affordable.

Driving
What can be said? Nothing can compare with the experience of driving a car over which one has complete control and confidence in. This car can handle anything the worst of Britains roads can throw up or any style of driving one chooses to adopt.
Performance
The in-line 4.0 six is beautifully smooth. It might not be a V8, but it is a Jaguar not a Ford engine and properly maintained is bombproof and will provide easily enough power for the most spirited driving or over-taking manoeuvre.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems yet and none expected.
Image
I don't think one can get a better endorsement when a couple of eight year-old boys coming back from playing football in the park stop, stare and say 'cool car'. It most definitely is not an old man's car!
Comfort
Not a Bentley or Rolls, but close enough to the 'stately home' on wheels tag as makes no odds. Electric sunroof, with electric memory seats and steering wheel just add to the overall comfort levels.
