Pros & cons
PROS
Individual looks, roomy inside, strong Volkswagen-sourced diesel engine
CONS
Budget car feel at mainstream car prices, cheap and ugly interior, unrefined, dull to drive
Dodge Avenger (07-09) rivals
Overview
The Avenger brings a dash of bold American styling to the rather sober and safe-looking large family car segment. Available only as a saloon, the Avenger is roomy and priced against cars like the Kia Magentis. However it’s a less well executed vehicle and although it comes with a good diesel engine, borrowed from Volkswagen, it’s an average car at best.
The poor quality interior and flimsy plastics only reinforce the budget feel and on the road the lack of refinement and sophistication are all too evident.
