What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 31 - 45 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

While the Avenger is priced against mainstream rivals, despite its high level of equipment, it has a budget car feel – list prices are a little high as they are. Fuel consumption is competitive with large saloons with similar power outputs but depreciation will be steep in a market of fast depreciating cars.
The Avenger performs adequately in terms of emissions and economy. The diesel is the greenest, but still emits 170g/km of CO2. Economy is better though – it is capable of 46mpg.
Engines available in the Avenger have been proven in other products so should be quite reliable. There are few electronic gadgets available, which should reduce the risk of electrical faults, but the interior doesn’t feel especially robust.
