Ferrari 812 Superfast GTS verdict
Should you buy one?
If you are lucky enough to, yes. Especially while you can. As the world moves further away from internal combustion engines, it’s difficult to look at the 812 GTS without wondering if the firm’s flagship supercar will ever be the same again.
As Ferrari continues to fit turbocharging and hybrid technology into its newer range of vehicles, the days of being able to buy a naturally-aspirated, V12-engined car seem to be rather finite.
Still, the 812 GTS is something to be celebrated and cherished. Adding a folding roof tends to introduce large compromises to the car it’s based on, but the GTS bucks the trend by being a better all-rounder.
We feel the slight softer edge in driving response over the Superfast is more than worthwhile and serves as a benefit to more buyers, resulting in a better grand tourer when you want it to be, and yet remaining an exhilarating supercar when you don’t.
