Fiat 500 Electric Hatchback 70kW 24kWh 3dr Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Having bought this 500e Action 24Kwh for less than half the RRP as a pre-reg (with 3 miles on the clock) I am seriously impressed with the design and quality I got for the money.
Having owned the combustion version on a 22 plate all I can say is that things (thankfully) have really moved on from a quality and drivability point of view, there really is no comparison but then again the combustion 500 (built in Poland and still on sale) can trace its lineage back to the 2004 Fiat Panda you really shouldn’t compare the two.
There is no way on earth I’d pay £31k for one of these but as a heavily discounted second car for shorter journeys they really are great.
The electronic doors thunk shut, the fit, finish and paint quality are very good and there are no rattles or squeaks.
It’s nippy with plenty of torque and as it’s the lighter smaller battery model it’s nice and chuckable through the corners.
I really do think a small base model Fiat is generally the best representation of the brand and product, as soon as you start larding them up with options you’re better off getting something different that demands/commands that price point.
If you can get a new one for around half price then they really are great little cars.
