Summary
What does this car say about you?
We like our funny Fiats :) But seriously, we like cars that are designed for practicality first.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
I think they think it's quite funky. One or to people think it's very good looking (we have a single-colour dark metallic grey one) and if anyone thinks it's ugly or odd, they have been too polite to say so.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would buy it because in the absence of any Multipla-style six-seaters on the market, this car gives a combination of comfort, flexibility and price/economy. For the price, more space would mean compromising on comfort or performance or some other aspect.
What are you likely to buy next?
Could well buy another one of these, or might consider slightly larger rival products from Ford, VW or Citroen-Peugeot.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£21,000
When did you buy the car?
March 2014
Did you get a good deal and why?
Fiat's standard deal of £500 off and 3 years' interest free on around half the cost. Nothing special, but OK on a new model.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed something to replace our Multipla and emerged as best combination of flexible space, economy and relative compactness.
What was the dealer like?
Friendly but not convinced they really understood outer reaches of the 500L range. We were very relieved when the right car eventually turned up (not a foregone conclusion, by all accounts!).

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's nice to drive - the 120hp engine gives it plenty of grunt, it has everything you need and more, gadget-wise, and it is comfortable. However, it has more body roll than the wider Mulipla, and I find I can't see the instruments properly no matter how I adjust things.
What's it like to park?
It's fine to park. It's about the size of a Zafira and it has rear parking sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Occasional rattle from sun roof. Intermittent dodgy loudspeaker that seems to have cured itself. No mechanical or electrical issues.
What's most practical about your car?
The large and expandable boot - the reason we bought it!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
So many to choose from, but I would probably have to say the opening glass sunroof. But I love the way way the radio integrates with my mobile phone. Really impressive and convenient.
