Economy
Value
Some absolute bargains to be had second hand. Just look out for aging, neglected cars.
Costs
Mpg is average but suffers in town, good maintenance helps but avoid dealers like the plague. Routine stuff can be done yourself to save a few pennies.

On the road
Driving
Good for normal to 'enthusiastic' driving, can a be bit hairy if really pushed. Power steering is very light. Bone shaking over potholes, but settles down nicely on good roads.
Performance
Pulls eagerly in all gears but needs to be pushed (4k rpm+) to get the best out of the engine while giving a surprisingly pleasing note. Cruises well.

Living with it
Reliability
Minor electrical problems mainly. Mechanically bullet-proof, never failed to start.
Image
The best looking car around for the age and money by light years. Still hold it's own against many new cars.
Comfort
Deceptively roomy especially up front. Seats are fine: could still walk after a 500mile trip.

Security and Service
Security
Immobiliser - never been tested.
Service
Clueless bunch of theives. Prices are daylight robbery and work substandard.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Regular oil changes and it will go for ever.
Other
Electrics! Rear wiper, stalk switches, heater. Battery ran flat registering a fault with airbag - £45 to reset the light.
