Economy
Value
For pounds for performance, there's none better. This includes low insurance costs.
Costs
Some parts are Fiat dealer only and cost double what they should be, good MPG for 1.8.

On the road
Driving
Handles well, sticks to road, easy to drive.
Performance
With revs between 3000 and 6000, the car is very quick, pulls you back into your seat, handles corners very well.

Living with it
Reliability
Starting and engine-wise, very good. Electrically pretty crappy. Something plays up every 1 to 2 weeks on my car, but they are not essential functions.
Image
Original good looking car, not your run of the mill hatchback. Rear lights look ace and was first to pioneer the 'round' back lights. Inside the car, the trim is plastic but nice and functionaly and it feels like everything is where it should be.
Comfort
Excellent driving position, no pain from prolonged driving, stiffened suspension good for handling - bad for bumpy roads.

Security and Service
Security
Comes with alarm and immobilser had no problems.
Service
Don't go to Fiat dealer, find a independant Fiat speicialist in yellow pages, preferably one that has the fiat diagnostic machine.

Electrics are typical Italian, you need to have a sense of humour. I don't, however, so may buy a more internal electrically reliable car next time round.
