Summary
What does this car say about you?
Nothing much - maybe that I can't afford a newer car. Or that I have Italian flair. I have no idea !
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Friends who have been in it like it. Those who haven't been in it think it is too old and battered. But I love it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
yes most definitely. I might just be lucky with this one but 8 years + of completely hassle free motoring from a 2nd hand purchase cannot be dismissed.
What are you likely to buy next?
Possibly another Bravo HGT or failing that a Focus 2 litre.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£7,000
When did you buy the car?
September 2001
Did you get a good deal and why?
I paid top dollar from Glyn Hopkin. At the time I could have bought it £1500 cheaper privately.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Our Renault Clio blew up. Never again will I buy a Renault
What was the dealer like?
The salesman was brilliant - took me for a drive then let me have the car on my own for a couple of hours. That pinched the sale. There was another dealer who kept trying to sell finance and insurance. He was an idiot (in my opinion)

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It is a lovely drive. I love it. Accurate. Grips well and has a great sound from the 5 cylinder engine.
What's it like to park?
It is the easiest car to park. Visibility is really good and gets into the tightest of spaces - unlike my x-trail which I find hard to park.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Only the air con has stopped working. Everything else works and its over 11 years old. I've had it about 8 years now. It has been the most reliable car I have ever owned or known. And I haven't even bothered to have the cam belt changed in all those years. It refuses to die.
What's most practical about your car?
For a 3 door its quite easy to get in the back as the front seats slide a long way forwards and go back to their original positions. The boots a little bit small but adequate. We managed as a family of 4.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Sunroof and heated seats. CD player is quite good - though its old now so doesn't sound as good as it used to.
