Summary
What does this car say about you?
Not a lot - just another family car for going from A to B in (like Astra, Focus, Golf etc...)Even more anonymous now the new Focus looks so similar.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Nice looking car that we got for a good price.
Would you buy this car again and why?
New price is around £17000 - not worth that. Reliability is questionable and fuel economy is about 31mpg around the doors. No regrets at the price we paid though.
What are you likely to buy next?
Not sure - might give a diesel a go and live with something a little slower for the 'sensible shopping car'.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£11,000
When did you buy the car?
March 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
Got a great deal as the market was dead so manufacturers were making huge cuts.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Very good deals on at the time.
What was the dealer like?
Fine, no quibbles.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very nippy around town with the turbocharger and the short-ratio 6 gears. Far, far faster than a 1.6 petrol Astra.
What's it like to park?
Easy - light steering (don't need the city mode) and we got rear sensors too.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Fine for 2.5 years, other than a little leak, a sticking clutch pedal and cancelling indicators. However recently the gearbox bearings have gone in 5th and 6th (you get a rasp when accelerating). After 4 months of waiting, Fiat will fit a replacement. Just still under warranty when reported, thankfully (the part cost of a gearbox box is £1700 alone).
What's most practical about your car?
Lots of room for the money.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Aircon is nice.
