Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'm a pillock for buying a Fiat.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all like the look of it and enjoy riding in it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No. For some reason I just can't settle with it.
What are you likely to buy next?
Toyota or Volvo

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£18,600
When did you buy the car?
September 2006
Did you get a good deal and why?
the deal was through brother-in-law who got staff dicount
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
got a staff discount
What was the dealer like?
hopeless. Wasn't really interested in selling me the car once they knew I had a staff discount, because it knocked a lump out of their commission. Asked about a used car for the misses at the same time, told them what we wanted - zero follow up.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Quiet and comfortable, and thirsty. Occasionally the accelorator sticks down when I "floor it", and the reason I floor it is because there is a definite lag before it responds. After a pause, accelleration is good. In the 3.0 Camry I got 29 - 31 mpg. In this 2.4 diesel I get 30 - 33 mpg. It's very dissapointing.
What's it like to park?
It can be parked easily in tight spaces. reversing sensor is a good feature.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Broke down twice in 1400 miles, with faulty brake light switch (it imobilises the car). The AA man broke the gear lever trying to get it out of park! Engine management light comes on supposedly for exhaust gasses being wrong - but nothing is wrong.
What's most practical about your car?
Spacious and versatile
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Puddle lights in the doors. Tailgate handles are inside, so it can be closed without dirtying the hands.
