Summary
What does this car say about you?
The chunky looks are not to everyone's taste but they do stand out (particularly if you get one of the unusual Fiat colours - my first Doblo was Fiat Orange) Quirky and practical
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Apart from the orange one, they like the Fiat Doblo . Good space for carrying hay bales or for camping in.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I certainly would as long as they still did the 1.9 JTD engine. The smaller engines are pretty useless for anyuthing but empty driving. I had a lease Doblo with a 1.4 Diesel engine and you can tell the difference on hills. It has similar performance to the Citroen Berling 2.0 HDI diesel and ten times more than the bog standard 1.9d.
What are you likely to buy next?
Another Fiat Doblo definately

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£2,500
When did you buy the car?
June 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
I think I got a good deal (after the problems below were sorted out). My review is actually for a Fiat Doblo 1.9JTD van but there wasn't a catagory for this model. Good condition, no dents or scratches
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Had a Fiat Doblo Cargo previously
What was the dealer like?
Friendly but a 4x4 dealer which is probably why van was reasonably cheap along with the fact that he had had it for a while. Dealer did the MOT 'allegedly' but when I had it serviced I found out the brakes were shot and down to bare metal - clearly not MOT'd. After I threatened him with VOSA he paid my garage to replace them.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
My first Doblo cargo handled horribly and I could never find out why. This one is great, very stable, and great driving position for long distances. 1.9 JTD engine good on the motorway and very economical despite shape if you take it steady.
What's it like to park?
Looks bigger than it is and even without rear windows the van is easy to park using large door mirrors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
It.s the second Doblo van I've owned and this 55 plate is a brilliant van. Locks are a bit sticky and need TLC from time to time but that is a well know Fiat problem.
What's most practical about your car?
Good fuel consumption, loads of space, high roof and high driving position.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Towbar , the 1.9 JTD engines tows fairly well and a towbar is always good for rear end p[rotection.
