Economy
Value
For the money I had available I thought I'd end up with a 2/3 year old Focus, but got a graet deal on a brand new Fiat Idea for less
Costs
At 40+ per gallon and an on-board computer to help me be ecomomical, it's cheap as chips. Servicing every 12,000 miles is great too.

Driving
I traded in a Scorpio and expected to down-grade, ended up with better!
Performance
A Ferrari it ain't, but a 1.4 engine with 11.5 sec for 0-60 is not to be sneezed at. Picks up really well in both 4th and 5th and more than acceptable for overtaking. By the way, where's that body roll the reviews complain about ? I haven't felt an inch ?

Living with it
Reliability
So far so good - not a single problem
Image
Don't care - I don't plan to change it and I've got the only one around here so it's nice to drive something different - plus people do look!
Comfort
Possibly too comfortable - I've felt myself almost dozing off - reach and rake on steering, seat adjustable for height as well, no body roll, and no jars on road bumps.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm would have been nice, but what do you expect on a base model? Remote central locking, and variable computer lock on ignition pretty good though.
Service
Oh dear! This was a relatively new model to the dealer and having swatted up on the internet, I found I knew more about it than they did! Make sure they turn on the indicators with the rem. Locking and check the cassette works - it takes month's to fix!

Fantastic car and it's the little things that make it great - just a pity about the humungous front pillar that obscures the view when turning right!
