Economy
Value
The bodywork is made of what seems to be foil and easily damaged. The interior is also what can only be described as functional, being one of the most basic of base models from any car manufacturer. Tacky instrument panel.
Costs
Would be cheap to run with good, fuel economic engine, but hampered by maintenance costs

On the road
Driving
The suspension is quite harsh and does not like going over bumps
Performance
For only a 1.1 engine, the car feels quite eager.

Living with it
Reliability
This is another weak point for fiat - Electrical problems being the main issue, with having to replace bulbs and fuses. Engine has a number of issues too.
Image
The car's image is still nice, having clean, sleak lines and being uncomplicated
Comfort
The Seats could have done with more support in them

Security and Service
Security
Has been broken into, but not stolen. Locks are not sheilded in any way and a coat hanger is also a good way into the car for the more patient of theives (AA man's way in as well!)
Service
Fiat dealers are extortionate, parts are very expensive and hard to get unless lots of time is spent researching

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Head Gasket has tendancy to fail on No.1 and 4 cylinders - problem of overheating - oil and water leaks resulting. Thermovalve also blew, compounding the problem.
Other
Speedometer showed 130mph at a standstill. Fiat said replace the sender unit with no luck. Estimated £240 to repair, but perseverence with soldering iron on some joints fixed problem at a cost of £0. Rear suspension mounts also failed
