Value
Good value, especially secondhand, loads about.
Costs
Pretty cheap to run.

On the road
Driving
Very poor handling as suspension is too soft, centre of gravity is too high and power steering too light with very little feedback...not one for the fast A-road.
Performance
For a 1.2 not bad, hardly great yet the equivalently specced polo 1.0 offers a measley 50BHP and the 1.3 Ford fiesta is possibly the roughest sounding engine ever made!

Living with it
Reliability
In five years the only time it has broken down is the battery which is to be expected after four years. Also had the abligatory jerky wipers and a water leak all repared under waranty. For a cheep car the doors also close with a nice clunk...most un fiat l
Image
Pretty good, nice looking (especially the front lights) shame they totally messed it up with the hideous '03 facelift!
Comfort
Very good, comfy seats, good ride and very refined on the motoway. Just a shame about the level of body roll.

Security and Service
Security
Average. Mine was broken into by piercing the door which was annoying. Can't imagine anyone would want to nick one!
Service
Pretty good!!! fairplay Autoworld
