Summary
What does this car say about you?
This bloke's probably wearing muddy boots and is either off to the allotment or the DIY superstore.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
So old it's starting to look cool. Italian mates get dewy eyed and take photos of it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
If it wasn't so thirsty - yes. Very reliable if you just need a utility vehicle to move DIY scrap, go camping, take stuff to the allotment, tank along the motorway. But drinks a fair bit.
What are you likely to buy next?
Something less thirsty, something equally utilitarian.

£600

August 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
I got a fantastic deal. Known owner, car checked out by my dad.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
My dad found it for me, I needed a solid workhorse.
What was the dealer like?
No dealer.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's a tank. It's slow, heavy and goes in a straight line. It can turn left and right and goes backwards when I ask it to. So not bad.
What's it like to park?
No bad at all. I'd be looking like Arnie Schwarzenegger without the power steering, mind!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Very little, just ageing as you'd expect from a car that's coming up to 20 years old.
What's most practical about your car?
It's a workhorse. You can throw a lot in it and it will go. Italian friends tell me its known as a bit of a tractor back home. Galvanised body means no rust!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Power steering. My previous daily car (a 1965 Singer Gazelle) didn't have this so it makes tight parking in my urban street a lot easier. I'd be developing fantastic biceps without it.
