Fiat Tipo Hatchback (2016 - 2023) Easy Plus 1.6 MultiJet II 120hp 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I first saw the Tipo outside my local Fiat dealer and went to look. Far too expensive! I ended up with a Sandero Stepway for much less. After 65k, 2.5 years, it was time to change and the local Fiat dealer had three Tipo outside. ‘Delivery Mileage’, they claimed, £10,750 for a 1.6 diesel hatch with metallic paint and a range of other extras which I calculated to make it worth just over £21,000 if you been daft enough. At almost half list price and with just 135 miles on the clock I just couldn’t find a reason not to buy it.
It feels quick, it’s frugal, quiet, relaxed, spacious, well put together and all the other adjectives I can think of. For those thinking that I’m bound to be kind to it after being a Dacia driver I should say that I’ve had many Mercedes and Audi in the past. Taking everything into account, mainly the cost, the Tipo stands up well. I’ve no regrets.
I do find it odd though that there’s no indicator to tell you to top up the washer fluid, finding a window position between fully open an fully closed can be a challenge and overly small centre console drinks holders are just strange. On the other hand the boot is huge, there’s loads of handy storage and the interior layout is very straightforward.
Buy one but only at the right price. Pay too much and I have a feeling you’ll feel sick at how much you’ve lost when it comes to trading it in.
How reliable do you find the car?
