Fiat Ulysse 1.9 TD S 5d (1998/R) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
A lot of car for the money. It's not really a Fiat, but a Peugeot through and through, apart from the badge.
Costs
Very economical to run and easy to service. Expect about 40mpg.

On the road
Driving
Not to everyone's taste, but a superb high driving position with plenty of visibility. Thick pillars can obstruct vision in turns. Very comfortable indeed. Very relaxed cruising apart from wind noise.
Performance
Slow off the blocks, but eats the miles. Not a winner at traffic lights, but you can't have everything.

Living with it
Reliability
Owned for 2 years. Now 66k miles - only normal service items + brake discs and new glow plugs.
Image
Don't worry what it looks like - your friends will be asking to borrow it for its flexibility.
Comfort
Bags of legroom and supportive seats. Nice ride - guaranteed to send passengers to sleep! Has been described to me as a luxury coach, but with legroom.

Security and Service
Service
Have it serviced by a local garage rather than a main dealer - it's not a complex car. Oil changes can be done youself in 10 minutes without need of a jack!
