Fiat Ulysse 2.0 JTD S 5d (2001/Y) Owner Review

Economy
Value
A good 2nd hand bargain. Slow depreciation now, will run for year as Fiat Doblo based and they do 250,000 in their stride!
Costs
Fiat dealers expensive and are best avoided. I use local Ford dealer for convenience and price. Fuel consumption is good for such a large heavy car.

On the road
Driving
Smooth to drive, diesel very refined, relatively good all-rounder.
Performance
You don't buy a people carrier for its performance, however the Ulysse can hold its own in traffic. It makes an excellent tow vehicle and it's surprisingly economical.

Living with it
Reliability
Starts on the key, and doesn't live up to the badge Fix It Again Tomorrow (FIAT).
Image
The car gets admiring glances from taxi drivers!
Comfort
Good high riding position gives passengers a good view. Seats backs are adjustable so good for kids to sleep in. Rides well on rough roads. Aircon and tinted glass useful in the heat.

Security and Service
Security
Adequate security. Remote locking and imobiliser. Lacks standard ABS brakes!
Service
Fiat service agents are obviously very busy. However they are too expensive and not idealy located to use.
