Fiat Uno 1.0 ie Fire Special 3d (1993/K) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Only cost us £500 with no rust, but does have an oil leak (although have had a C reg that only cost £180 - a brill car called Charlie).
Costs
Have had to replace a few parts; shocks £35 each, brakes £100 all round, exhaust back box £43. Petrol costs are low.

On the road
Driving
Fun to drive. Gear change is lovely, nice and chunky. Have to use the gears on the hils, but very responsive and fast for a small car.
Performance
See above.

Living with it
Reliability
Ours has 'Fiat five minutes' every once in a while, but it always goes again with a quick fiddle with the HT leads. I think he would prefer to live in the sun rather than in wet Wales!
Image
No problem with his image, except when he has a 'Fiat five' in the middle of traffic!
Comfort
I find the seats a bit too curvy. They tend to make my back hurt, but the ride of the vehicle is very good.

Security and Service
Security
We live in a low crime area, so security is not relevant. There is no immobiliser or alarm, though.
Service
Not used the manufacturer, so I have no comment.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Oil leak when we got it. 'Fiat five minutes' tend to be spark plug and HT lead problems I think.
