What does this car say about you?

That I'm old fashioned? not sure but it certainly stands out in the car park! I'd like to think it says I'm different, and like retro/ classic cars.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

I've had good reactions, they think it's quirky & retro!! Plus I've had people comment in the street, sure it's not a Ferrari but feels good to be different. Some peopel really don't get it, and can't understand why I'd want an old car like this but you can't please everyone! I've met a lot of people because of my car, can't imagine not having it now!!

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes, in fact I have got another Uno as well!! think that says it all really...

What are you likely to buy next?

Just bought a Renault Estate for work and winter use, but not very keen on it. So would like to trade that for another Fiat eventually, or perhaps treat myself to an Alfa.

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Didn't buy from a dealer

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £250

When did you buy the car?

    November 2011

Did you get a good deal and why?

I bought privately off eBay, although the car didn't have an Mot for the money and condition of it I was happy. Didn't take much to get it through the Mot either, so was a bit of bargain!

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

I wanted a simple, easy to maintain retro car that I could use everyday.

    What was the dealer like?

The seller was polite, an although they wasn't car people they were happy enough to answer my questions etc.. and let me leave a deposit on the car.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

A lot of fun!! 45 bhp doesn't sound a lot but on the twisty stuff the little Uno comes into it's own. It's got very direct, almost go-kart like steering. It pulls quite well, so even driving round town or just cruising the dual carriageways etc.. The Uno feels at home, some other drivers don't seem to like me passing them though!!

    What's it like to park?

The Uno has no power steering etc.. but the steering is so light and percise you don't need it!! visability is excellent so parking is a doddle :).

Have you had any problems with the car?

Not much, just normal wear & tear items. Tyres, exhaust, brake pads, bulbs, the sort of things you expect to have to replace on any car. Biggest expense was the clutch, but even that was cheap!! It's an easy car to maintain, and nothing feels too much of challange to fix.

What's most practical about your car?

It's brilliant on fuel, about £30 to fill the tank and even with some spirited driving can still return a decent mpg!

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Tough one, I'd say the Alloys although I bought them they really make the car stand out!!
