• Summary

    4 out of 5 4.0

What does this car say about you?

    Middle aged, middle class. Boring!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

They think it's smart and comfortable. But I'm old enough not to really mind what they think!

Would you buy this car again and why?

I'd buy the Titanium version to get the Keyless Entry which I miss a lot from the Scenic. Economy is not so clever either, I get max 48 mpg per tankfull, as opposed to 57+ for diesel Scenic.

What are you likely to buy next?

    Absolutely no idea!

Type of dealer you bought from?

    Franchised

Did you buy this car new?

    No

    What price did you pay?

    £14,995

When did you buy the car?

    July 2013

Did you get a good deal and why?

I wanted to get a new C-Max, but was told it would take about 11 weeks. So I bought a 'pre-registered' one from Ford themselves with 4k on the clock.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

    What was the dealer like?

Good. Informative and helpful. It took just one week to source, valet and deliver the car.

  • Driving it

    5 out of 5 5.0

    What's it like to drive?

Very pleasant. It's much quieter than previous car (Renault Scenic) and has little wind/road noise at motorway cruising.

    What's it like to park?

Not so easy. The rear visibility is not good and without the parking sensors it would be very difficult. I've added a tiny 'blind spot' mirror to the nearside wing mirror to try and help me spot the kerb more accurately.

  • Living with it

Have you had any problems with the car?

The only thing that's really gone wrong - which is nothing to do with the car - is that the winscreen broke in the first week I had it.

What's most practical about your car?

Probably the driving position. Good and high, excellent front vision, with very good seating in the front. I can drive for 200 miles without feeling tired or weary at all.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

When I got the car, the salesman got the hands-free to recognise my iPhone. This has proved invaluable and saved me a lot of potential problems.
