In their own words
Bought after years of driving a mondeo estate as a company car. This was ideal on the motorway but a pain in town/city driving. We run a petrol Toyota Yaris for short trips around town so I needed a car which was a good motorway cruiser for the 460 mile visits each way to see the Grandchildren. I also needed a car which was easy to park, easy to drive around the outskirts of London and had a good sized boot. The Titanium X 2.0 TDCI with the amazingly good powershift gearbox fits the bill perfectly. The engine and gearbox are a joy, whether on the motorway or around town, the handling is superb around the twisty bits and the active park assist makes hands free parking a doddle. I always wondered why anyone would want heated seats but now I have them I am converted. I had the heated front windscreen before in all my mondeos but for non Ford owners who have to scrape their windscreens in the cold of winter I must say that it is a great benefit. The car does everything for me, it changes gear, puts the headlights on automatically and dips them as necessary, it dips the interior mirror, when I turn it puts a light on to illuminate around the corner and it even warns me if there is a vehicle in my blind spot. I have had the Cmax for nearly 3 years now and with 43K miles on the clock I have had no problems and even the Ford garage has been very good for services. The only bad point I can relate is the lack of cubby holes/ compartments to store your stuff. Yes it has 2 cupholders and a large storage area under the front armrest but I still get frustrated at the lack of other usefulstorage bins. Ford should look at my Yaris and take note! Still, that apart this is the best car I have ever had and I just love driving it.
