Ford Capri 1.6 Laser 3d (1986/D) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Lower models are great value, but a decent 2.8i or 280 will cost you.
Costs
Parts can be picked up for peanuts from breakers and the many Capri specialists.

On the road
Driving
FANTASTIC !! - I have installed a 2.0i DOHC Granada engine so now she goes like the proverbial off a shovel !!
Performance
Nice and reliable with engine run by ECU, 150bhp (same as standard 2.8i) but doesn't weigh as much so very quick.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems since installing new engine after 12,000 miles.
Image
You too can be Bodie & Doyle, still looks superb compared to today's "euro boxes".
Comfort
Installed complete Recaro interior. Cramped driving position though as I'm 6' 3", but you forgive these things as it's a Capri.

Security and Service
Security
Lousy - Ford may as well have Dealer option stickers saying "Please steal me". Locks useless - install an alarm.
