Economy
Value
Cheap to buy now, but lost huge percentage in the last 18 months.
Costs
Very reasonable except for annoyingly expensive tyres!
-
On the road
Driving
Nice to drive, amazing holding around corners for a Ford. Beware on older tyres!
Performance
Good for a 2 litre, plenty of grunt and nice high speed cruising. Will fly all day.

Living with it
Reliability
Very reliable with tyres being the only major expense with this car.
Image
Mid-life-crisis man's Capri, but hey, I love it! Pity it never really caught on. Still gets people looking as they are not that common. Tell people you drive a Cougar and don't mention the 2-door mondeo bit!
Comfort
As a large driver the seat is a bit small with annoying handles either side, but the back seat is a deep bucket and even the kids don't like it! Excellent! With back seats down its almost estate car size, its very impressive!

Security and Service
Security
Alarm fitted and single/dual door unlock is good in town for safety.
Service
Had no problems with servicing for this car at all. Gets through loads of tires, partly due to very heavy right foot.
