Ford Cougar 2.5 V6 24V 3d (1999/T) Owner Review

Economy
Value
£7k with 18k miles on the clock, for a 140mph car with lots of toys. Can't argue with that.
Costs
Servicing is fairly cheap, but tyres require a remortgage. Furious thirst for Super Unleaded at 21mpg!

On the road
Driving
Minimal bodyroll and loads of grip. Rear 3/4 vision is very poor and it can be a bit of a handful around town and in car parks.
Performance
140mph and quick off the mark with it too! V6 sounds fantastic when revved hard.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems, apart from engine pinking which is cured now.
Image
I like it, but lots of people don't.
Comfort
Difficult to find a comfortable driving position. Very poor rear head and legroom for such a big car.

Security and Service
Security
Never be broken into.
Service
Kept my car overnight without my permission or knowledge. One of the mechanics took it home with him. Not amused.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Pinking finally cured at the 4th attempt by main dealer.
Other
The batteries in my key go flat in weeks, not months.
