Summary
What does this car say about you?
Hard one to answer. We have done some gentle modification to the car, which have improved the performance and styling. It is a great stealth car as people usually don't know what it is.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
A lot of people have no idea who makes it (some confusion between Cougar and Jaguar tends to occur). Car enthusists remark on its handling. Most can't believe it is a 10yr old design.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No, It is no longer made. It's a shame because Ford no longer compete in this sector.
What are you likely to buy next?
Saab turbo convertible.

Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes we got a good deal as the car had low mileage and a full service hsitory. We did our research and made an offer at the level we wanted to goto. We stuck to this and the dealer eventually agreed.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Having just had to buy a large MPV we wanted something that was a bit more fun for a second car.
What was the dealer like?
The dealer was quite helpfull and attended to everything we wanted before the pick up.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The stearing can feel quite lumpy at low speeds. It has a tendancy to tramline. At higher speeds and in cornering the ride is very stable. The V6 means that you have lots of lazy power. Its not a racing car its a cruiser. My wife gets 30 MPG out of it.
What's it like to park?
We have the parking aids which make things much easier. Rear visability is Ok but not great.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
The big one was the alternator. This is a common fault due to its position. Getting it repaced was a bit of a nightmare. Make sure that you use a garage that knows how to do these as the engine bay is very tight.
What's most practical about your car?
The size of the boot. You can get an adults bike in it.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Though not a gadget the engine and handling is the best part about this car. Never ceases to put a smile on your face.
