Summary
What does this car say about you?
That i know my cars, and im willing to pay a little extra to own a future classic!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
think its a great looking car... often get asked if its a company car, as im only 20 years old... looks a lot more expensive that you can pick them up for now.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes... if they had ever made the S version, or the ST200. (3.0V6 engines with more sporty looks and handling.)
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably a Nissan 350Z or a Porsche Boxster

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£2,000
When did you buy the car?
July 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
The deal I got was quite good, it needed taxing and a couple of new tires. Got it with low mileage (70,000), which isn't bad since its 2008.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Great looking car, great insurance for a 20 year old male!
What was the dealer like?
Ok, he specialized on slightly higher newer/ performance cars, a few impreza STi's and 330 BMW's. So didn't seem that interested!

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Great to drive, 2.5V6 sounds lovely when you put your foot all the way down (you wont want to do this too often or you get 15mpg). Bit breathless at higher revs (you don't really feel like much is happening at around 5,000 onwards.) Very clumsy ride at low speeds, feels like you don't have any suspension (got it checked out and everything is fine... just crappy ride at low speeds.)
What's it like to park?
Can be a tad tricky at first. You can't see the rear end of your car through the window, and the cougar is a rather large beast. (I find if i keep reversing a second after i think i should stop... that’s about right!)

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Great car, the only thing that has gone wrong is my front left wishbone went, and cost me about 140quid to sort out. Also i needed the timing chain tensioners sorting (piece of mind!) Oh and watch out for people trying to rip you off with tires. Go for the Kumho 215/50/16 for 65quid. Just type is into Google
What's most practical about your car?
Ridiculous amount of boot space with the back seats down.. i moved house with this car lol!
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Being able to turn the traction control off, when I’m feeling a bit naughty in the corners... (traction control does seem to kick in far too quickly for my liking.) Heated wing mirrors are nice... kick in automatically
