What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 28 - 33 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Running costs are similar to those of a Mondeo, so it’s pretty cheap in terms of servicing and insurance groups are quite low too. The V6 is a bit thirsty if driven hard but that’s to be expected with this type of car. The bulk of depreciation has already been lost, so they won’t lose much more value.
There have been no major problems reported with the Cougar and plenty of examples have racked up well over 100,000 miles without issue.
