You don't want to mix in with the crowd and you like to draw attention.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Friends love it, family hate it as it is too loud, too hard suspension and no space to put baby seat.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, yes I would. I've had a few before and this won't be my last. I love the character, the history and the classic 80s styling.
What are you likely to buy next?
Maybe the Escort RS Turbo or mk3 XR3.

The parts required cost less than £200 so it only owed me £430 - BARGAIN!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I was the previous owner and saw for sale as car for spares so I bought back to fix.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Great fun to drive, real driver's car, you know exactly what everything is doing because you're doing it not a computer!
What's it like to park?
It's very small so fitting in spaces is no problem. What is a problem is the lack of power steering, being 1989 not many middle of the range cars did so it is very heavy steering!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Ticks over a bit high occasionally but apart from that no problems. Keep an eye on fuel gauge though as there are no fuel warning lights.
What's most practical about your car?
The boot space is not too bad, comfortably fits 4 people, maybe 5 with a push but you would end up looking a bit intimate.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The RS Turbo Recaro seats are a must, only other option is the electric windows which is handy!
