Ford Escort Hatchback 1.6 Ghia 5d (1982/Y) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
If you can find a solid one - excellent.
Costs
Very cheap if maintenance is kept up. Not bad on fuel.

Driving
Very nimble chassis, heavy but positive steering, good performance on par with today's 1.6 cars. I upgraded the rear dampers with spax adjustables which helps the ride and handing of the car tremendously - far more composed. Driving position is good.
Performance
Not a ball of fire but brisk.

Reliability
Electrics can be a problem, but not that I have experienced.

Seats in Ghia are soft!
