1.4 is fairly sluggish - better of with at least a 1.6.

Not the best looking car, but can't complain for the money. Easy to modify (if you're into that sort of thing).

Alarm isn't great and must be fairly easy to break in to, although mine's still here.

New potentiometer and alternator fitted. Quite cheap though.

Heater went, problem with Fuse box, apparently is quite a common fault on Mk5 Escort.
