What does this car say about you?
Boy racer on the outside cos the spoiler and alloys. Inside old man with pipe and slippers cos of the 'walnut' dash and gaiter.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They think its quite cool.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. Especailly another ghia or ghia x the specs are so good out strips the later finesse.
What are you likely to buy next?
Nissan Figaro or Pao. Maybe in a couple years time.

A reliable well priced car plus I needed a car quickly after killing the last car I owned.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Smooth only slightly jerky at low speeds. CTX transmission is great no lumpy gear changes. Easy uphill no sudden jerk as it down shifts to extra grunt. just finds the right ratio for the conditions. Eats motorway journeys up and fine cruising round town. Responsive when overtaking. Corning is great just overall a good car to drive.
What's it like to park?
Terrible, dreadful. Small mirrrors take some getting used add in a high boot door and spoiler and you cant see anything below 4' below!! Front end in is fine.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing major, just the usual consumables like plugs, pads and discs and tyres. Very good car to run.
What's most practical about your car?
Not really an issue more of impracticality. It may be a split/fold backrest but the whole bench has lift moving the seats forward to a stupidly cramped position. A plus note height (tilt) adjustable drivers seat plus lumbar support and adjustable steering wheel which helps when you're 6' 4".
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Electric boot release and front windows. Air conditioning is always a bonus. And the adjustable drivers seat and wheel. Oh yeah, spoiler and alloys really lift an Escort make it look good.
