What is miles per pound?
Fuel economy
A more stringent standard for fuel economy (WLTP) was introduced from September 2017, and this model was not required to undergo that test.
Its fuel economy measured under the previous test system was 27 - 49 mpg. However these figures are less likely to be achievable in real world driving and so should never be compared to another car's mpg which was measured under the newer, more realistic WLTP system.

Resale value will depend upon condition, but if you don’t pay much for it in the first place, then you won’t lose much. Parts prices and servicing costs are very cheap. Fuel economy is actually worse for the 1.4 than the 1.6.
Far more dependable than previous Escorts but not fault-free – will depend on how well it has been serviced. Build quality and finish are best on later models.
